Community Expectations and Responsibilities

We are committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all players. While our primary goal is to create a fun and engaging experience, we also take the responsibility of protecting our community seriously. To uphold these standards, the following points should be noted:

  • Respectful Behavior: All players are expected to treat others with respect and kindness. Any form of discrimination, harassment, or hate speech is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated.

  • Zero Tolerance Policy: We reserve the right to ban any player without prior warning if certain behaviors or topics are observed on our platforms. This includes, but is not limited to, any actions that undermine the safety or well-being of others.

  • Continuous Improvement: Our rules and guidelines may be updated at any time without prior notice. Players are encouraged to stay informed of any changes to ensure they remain in compliance with our community standards.

  • Reporting and Accountability: Players are encouraged to report any incidents of inappropriate behavior or rule violations to the staff. All reports will be taken seriously and handled with discretion to ensure the protection and integrity of our community.

  • Inclusive Environment: We strive to create an inclusive environment where all players feel welcome, regardless of their background or identity. Your participation in fostering this positive atmosphere is essential.

Chat Rules
  • LGBTQIA+ Inclusiveness
    • Aeltheria is proudly inclusive of the LGBTQIA+ community. Any homophobic, transphobic or otherwise derogatory remarks or actions toward a player or group of players will result in an immediate and permanent ban.
  • Compliance with Staff Instructions
    • Failure to follow staff instructions, particularly when directed to change the chat topic, may result in disciplinary action.
  • Advertising Other Servers
    • Advertising other Minecraft or Discord servers is strictly prohibited unless they are directly connected to our server, such as Town or Nation Discords.
    • Town/Nation Discords must adhere to our server’s rules regarding behavior and conduct.
    • We will only investigate if a report is made with clear evidence.
  • Spamming and Excessive Use of Characters
    • Spamming and unnecessary use of letters, sentences, or symbols can result in a mute. This includes dragging out characters, using excessive non-alphanumeric symbols, flooding the chat, and repeatedly sending similar messages.
  • Swearing Policy
    • Swearing is permitted as long as it is not excessive, not intended to offend or berate someone, and not directed at another player.
  • Sharing Personal Information
    • Sharing the personal information of other players is strictly forbidden.
    • It is also advised that you refrain from sharing your own personal information.
    • Aeltheria is not responsible for the consequences of sharing your personal information.
  • Inappropriate Nicknames
    • Do not use inappropriate nicknames. This includes names that could be considered NSFW, political, or otherwise inappropriate.
    • Some violations of this rule fall under our Zero Tolerance Policy.
    • Do not impersonate other players or staff members with your nickname.
  • Avoid Controversial Topics
    • Avoid introducing controversial topics in chat, even if this is in a joking manner.
    • This includes, but is not limited to, discussions of politics, religion (including cults and sects), R18+/NSFW content (such as sex, harmful drugs, violence), and dark historical events (like genocide, slavery, war).
    • Some aspects of this rule fall under our Zero Tolerance Policy.
  • Harassment of Players/Staff
    • Harassing players or staff through message spam, threats, insults, or similar actions is not allowed.
    • This also includes attempts to bait other players or staff into negative responses.
    • Trash-talking towns, nations, player warps, or player shops is prohibited.
    • This rule falls under our Zero Tolerance Policy.
    • Friendly competition between towns and shops is acceptable as long as it remains consensual and friendly.

General Gameplay Rules

  • The Spirit of Fair Play
    • While Aeltheria is not primarily a competitive server, there are naturally elements that can become competitive, such as creating the best shop, town, nation, map, or other in-game accomplishments. It is essential that in all these pursuits, the spirit of fair play is upheld by every player.
      • Celebrate the successes of others and avoid actions that would unfairly diminish or sabotage their achievements. Whether someone has built an impressive structure, established a thriving town, or created a popular shop, recognize their hard work and contribute positively to the community.
      • Any form of cheating, exploitation of bugs, or unfair advantage goes against the spirit of fair play. Players are expected to engage in honest and transparent gameplay. If you discover a loophole or an unfair advantage, it is your responsibility to report it to the staff rather than exploit it.
      • Healthy competition can be fun and motivating, but it should never lead to toxic behavior, harassment, or bullying. Engage in friendly rivalries that encourage mutual growth and creativity, while always treating your fellow players with respect and kindness.
      • Remember that Aeltheria thrives on its community spirit. While competition can be enjoyable, collaboration often leads to even greater achievements. Consider teaming up with others to create something extraordinary rather than focusing solely on personal victory.
      • In all situations, prioritize integrity over winning. The true measure of success on Aeltheria is not just what you accomplish but how you accomplish it. Play fairly, respect others, and contribute to the inclusive and friendly atmosphere that makes Aeltheria special.
  • No Griefing
    • Do not destroy or deface any player-built structures on the server.
    • Destroying blocks within 3-4 chunks of a town without permission (border griefing) is strictly prohibited.
    • Harvesting crops from public or player-built farms without replanting is considered griefing.
    • An exception to this is in the resource world(s). As there is to be no building in resource world, any building that is done there is considered unclaimed and unprotected.
    • In cases where an abandoned structure may be up for grabs, please consult staff before interacting with it.
    • The staff is not responsible for any blocks, items, or structures lost when the resource world is reset.
  • Town Proximity and Claims
    • Claiming towns or homes within 10 chunks of another town without permission may result in the deletion of the newly claimed town.
    • Upon request, your town structures can be relocated if you accidentally build too close to another town.
    • In such situations, all parties are expected to remain respectful while staff works to resolve the issue. Failure to cooperate respectfully may result in punishment.
  • No Stealing
    • Stealing items, animals, loot, or mob kills from other players is strictly forbidden. Generally, if it's in a "towny" world, i.e. not a resource world - everything should be left as-is unless you are intending to settle a town at that exact location. This includes killing animals within 10 chunks of a town.
    • Do not copy original designs from another playing, using Schematica/Litematica unless you have prior consent.
    • Do not use a map, with the intent to steal map art.
  • Redstone Machines and Laggy Builds
    • Building redstone machines or farms that cause excessive lag will result in their automatic removal by staff.
    • The following are examples of prohibited builds:
      • Flying machines
      • Fully automated farms utilizing observers
      • Any zero-tick farms
      • Mob farms that spawn an unreasonable number of mobs
  • No Explicit/Inappropriate Content
    • Explicit or inappropriate content is not allowed via map art, pixel art, builds, books, or any other means.
    • If you're unsure whether your map art, pixel art, or book topic is allowed, please ask a staff member.
    • Some violations of this rule fall under our Zero Tolerance Policy.
  • Event Sabotage and Exploits
    • Any attempts to sabotage or exploit bugs within events will result in a ban for the duration of the event.
  • Reporting Bugs and Exploits
    • Please report any bugs or exploits you discover by submitting a ticket on our Discord. If there is an exploit or a bug that is discovered to have been abused, this can result in a permanent ban as this goes against the spirit of fairly playing within Aeltheria.
  • Advertisements
    • Posting an item for purpose of advertising on auction is prohibited.

Mods and External Programs

At Aeltheria, we have no illusion regarding the fact that there is a long, and arduous road to leveling up the varying jobs and skills we offer, and we also recognize how useful many client mods and external programs can be. If you are unsure whether a specific mod is allowed, please consult with a staff member before using it. Our team is here to help clarify any questions you may have regarding mod usage. With that said:

  • Allowed Mods
    • Performance Enhancements: Mods that improve game engine performance, such as Optifine, Sodium, and Starlight, are permitted. These mods help optimize the game for smoother performance and a better overall experience.
    • Minimaps: Minimaps are allowed as long as they do not include cave or x-ray functionalities. These features should be disabled to ensure they do not provide an unfair advantage.
    • Building Assistance: Litematica is allowed for schematic purposes and building assistance, provided it is used responsibly and does not automate gameplay. (i.e. doesn't place blocks for you. You have to manually place them.) Mods like "Accurate Block Placement" are also permitted, as long as they are not used to place many blocks in quick succession - provided they are being used to build smoother in a straight line, or similar, that is OK!
    • Auto-clicker: This is a huge caveat. Scripts and auto-clicking is allowed in the following situations only: Crafting, and placing blocks for purposes of training Architect (e.g. in a straight line, or walking backwards in above the Nether roof) provided these scripts do not exceed 8 CPS. Any use of auto-clicking or scripts for any other situations is strictly prohibited, for example - killing mobs, or automatically fishing. The reasoning for this is that many of the jobs require a lot of repetitive actions, over many hours.
    • Inventory Mods: All of these are permitted. Whether they allow you to drag your mouse across many blocks, or sort your inventory, or make crafting easier - go for it!
  • Disallowed Mods:
    • Cheaty Clients: Any client modifications or custom clients designed to provide an unfair advantage are strictly prohibited. This includes clients that offer features not available in the standard game or give undue benefits.
    • X-Ray Mods: Mods that reveal ores or structures through walls (x-ray mods) are banned. These mods provide a significant advantage in mining and exploration.
    • Other Automatic Functions: Mods or tools that automate gameplay functions, such as auto-mining, auto-clicking, auto-fishing or any form of automated in-game actions, are not allowed.
  • Macro Programs and External Software:
    • Macro Programs: The use of macro programs, which automate complex tasks or actions beyond normal gameplay, is forbidden. These programs can give players an unfair advantage by performing actions at speeds or efficiencies beyond manual capabilities. Any exceptions to this are in the "Allowed Mods" section of these rules. A better example of what might be prohibited is something like Baritone.

By adhering to these guidelines, you help ensure that all players have an equal opportunity to enjoy Aeltheria. Our aim is to maintain a fair and enjoyable environment for everyone - regardless of physical ability. If you have any questions or need clarification on mod usage, again please do not hesitate to reach out to our staff or create a ticket on our Discord.
